Costas has extensive experience advising clients on a broad range of commercial and maritime disputes, including those arising under charterparties, bills of lading, shipbuilding and ship sale contracts. His dispute resolution practice encompasses arbitration, mediation, and complex court litigation, with particular expertise in high-value safe port disputes, ship groundings, partial and total loss claims, piracy, as well as insurance and reinsurance matters. He also advises on regulatory and compliance issues in the corporate and insurance sectors.
A specialist in maritime litigation, Costas has established a strong track record of successfully representing clients before the courts and has been praised for his advocacy and litigation skills.
In addition to his contentious practice, Costas advises on a wide range of non-contentious commercial matters. His experience includes business acquisitions and disposals, the establishment of joint ventures, and the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts and marine and insurance policies.
Costas represents a diverse international client base, including shipowners, tug owners, charterers, carriers, ship operators and managers, shippers, international traders, brokers, suppliers, underwriters, reinsurers, P&I Clubs, and commodity producers and traders.
