Christos’ work primarily focuses on the litigation and arbitration of high-value, technical disputes in the shipping, corporate and marine insurance sectors, which involve an international element.
He has extensive experience in pursuing and defending claims in various divisions of the Greek Courts, including the Admiralty Court, as well as by way of arbitration pursuant to arbitral rules of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping and the LMAA. Chambers and Partners recommend him for “his effective strategic thinking” and his ability to “easily spot the strong and weak points of a case”.
He principally works with ship/tug owners, banks, brokers, ship managers and operators on both contentious and non-contentious matters. Christos specializes is all aspects of casualty work, with a particular experience in wet shipping, i.e. salvage, collisions, fire/explosions, wreck removal, pollution, bunker disputes, and general average. He also handles a full range of dry shipping matters, including ship sale and purchase, loans and mergers and acquisitions.
On the non-contentious side, Christos has been involved in the formation of companies, joint ventures as well as in the sale and purchase of ships, loan documentation, ship-building contracts.
Christos has a great experience in ADR and is a Supporting Member of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping Arbitration Association as well as an Arbitrator.
